Katherine Bakke, MD, is a UW Health surgeon and assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Bakke performs elective, non-urgent and urgent surgeries for adult patients with a variety of conditions — from hemorrhoids (swollen rectal veins) and hernias (protruding tissues) to appendicitis (diseased appendix), diverticulitis (bulging intestinal pouches) and colon and gallbladder disease.
