Carrie Thiessen, MD, is a UW Health transplant surgeon. She specializes in kidney and pancreas transplant surgeries. She evaluates patients with end-stage kidney or pancreatic disease. Dr. Thiessen also treats patients with severe complications related to diabetes or chronic pancreatitis for kidney, pancreas or islet cell transplant, including performing total pancreatectomy auto islet transplant. Dr. Thiessen is an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Surgery, Division of Transplantation.
