Michael S. Higgins MD

Michael Higgins, MD, joined PeaceHealth in 2023 as a general and trauma surgeon. He practices the full scope of general surgery using a minimally invasive approach. He’s particularly interested in hernia and colorectal surgery. Dr. Higgins completed his medical degree at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, and a fellowship in laparoscopic surgery in the Franciscan Health System West. Previously, he worked in private practice in Bellingham for ten years. Before medical school, he was a tank commander in the U.S. Army, a bicycle messenger and a graduate student in applied mathematics.
