Stephanie Ellis, APRN, AGACNP-BC, is a board-certified adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner in the cardiothoracic surgery clinic at UT Health East Texas Physicians in Tyler. “I always wanted to be a nurse. As the nurse practitioner role became more widely known, I saw an opportunity to improve patient care and outcomes while remaining in touch with patients and their families. Cardiovascular surgery is especially interesting because of the acute patient care and ongoing education that go along with it.”
