Richard J. Andrassy, M.D., is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pediatric and general surgeon specializing in hernia and abdominal reconstruction, surgical oncology, and endocrine surgery. He’s also a professor in the Department of Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, which he has chaired since 1994. Andrassy is the longest-serving surgical department chair in the United States. He is also the only pediatric and general surgeon in Texas who treats adults and children.
