Kimiye R. Cabrera, MD

About

Dr Kimiye Cabrera joined CHI St. Joseph in 2011, after spending six years in Chinle, Arizona. There, she was a surgeon for the Indian Health Service on part of the Navajo reservation. She was also Medical Director of the health service 's Breast Clinic. The daughter of two physicians, Dr Cabrera grew up knowing she wanted to use her gifts to contribute to something bigger than herself. She chose to become a surgeon because she enjoys seeing people get better. With a father in the Army, Dr Cabrera has roots in several places, including Oregon, Tennessee, South Korea and Texas. She and her husband met while receiving undergraduate degrees at Baylor, where she graduated first in her class.
