Dr. John Abdelsayed is a true Texas native. He was born and raised in Houston and started his medical education at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. He then went on and completed his General Surgery training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. After his General Surgery training, Dr. Abdelsayed spent a year specializing in colon and rectal surgery at UT Southwestern & Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, TX. Here he learned the latest techniques in robotic surgery, trans-anal cancer resection, and minimally invasive surgery. He is an expert in treating colon and rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and anorectal disorders.
