Dr. Franssen is board certified in general surgery. He received his medical degree from Facultad de Medicina, UNAM in Mexico City. Dr. Franssen received his surgical training at Instituto Nacional de la Nutricion in Mexico City and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He completed a fellowship in liver and pancreas surgery at Instituto Nacional de la Nutricion, a fellowship in surgical oncology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York and a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Mayo Clinic.
