About

Matthew D. Neal, MD, is a trauma and general surgeon certified in general surgery and surgical critical care medicine by the American Board of Surgery. He is the Vice Chair for Academic Affairs, and the Roberta G. Simmons Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is the Director of Emergency General Surgery for UPMC Presbyterian. He received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh and completed his residency and fellowship at UPMC. Dr. Neal's clinical interests include robotic and minimally invasive abdominal wall reconstruction, hernia, complex re-operative abdominal, and gastrointestinal surgery.
