Louis H. Alarcon, MD

Louis Alarcon, MD, is a surgeon and surgical intensivist certified in surgery and surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery. He is the vice president for medical affairs at UPMC Presbyterian and is a professor of surgery and critical care medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Alarcon received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed his residency and fellowship at UPMC. He also has a Master of Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University. Dr. Alarcon’s clinical interests include the management of multi-system trauma, acute care surgery, and elective general surgery.
