I chose to pursue hepatobiliary surgery because it allows me to help patients who are otherwise limited in their treatment options. The complex nature of these diseases and treatments also means I get to know and care for my patients over time. My care philosophy focuses on providing the best care while doing so close to home. We often meet patients on their worst days with complex problems or new cancer diagnoses. The ability to offer highly specialized treatments and surgeries in a community setting, close to home and the family and support that accompanies that, is incredibly important. I spend my free time mostly with my five wonderful children. Everyone loves the full range of outdoor activities and parks available in Asheville.
