From an early age, I was drawn to biology and the sciences and dreamed of becoming a marine biologist. By exploring the secrets of the oceans, I hoped to find cures for the diseases of nature. But I soon realized that curing diseases for humanity was at the heart of my desires. \n Once in medical school, my strength and interest in surgery were impossible to deny. While I found all components of general surgery and critical care fascinating, I believe that the most effective way to cure many diseases is to help people achieve and maintain a healthy weight.
