Scott H. Hanan, MD, specializes in surgery for soft-tissue tumors, diseases of the intestinal tract, and hernias. In addition, Dr. Hanan has expertise in anterior approaches to the spine for degenerative disc disease, deformities, malignancies, and infections.Before joining Summit Health, Dr. Hanan practiced privately in New York City. He was an attending surgeon at Beth Israel Medical Center and Lenox Hill Hospital, where he treated surgery patients and those with chronic wounds. Recognized as a leader in anterior approaches to the spine, Dr. Hanan has trained surgeons in techniques for lumbar disc replacement.
