Gerald McKinney, M.D., specializes in general surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center located in Jackson, MS. As a native of Chicago, Dr. McKinney obtained a BS in Chemistry from Morehouse College prior to returning to Chicago where he attending the University of Illinois at Chicago. He returned to Atlanta and completed his general surgery residency at Morehouse School of Medicine. He remained in Atlanta as faculty to his fellowship in minimally invasive surgery. He joined a multispecialty group in Michigan City, Indiana followed by 10 years on faculty at Marshall University, Joan C. Edwards school of medicine. He joined the UMMC faculty on January 8, 2014.
