Dr. Cima is Professor of Surgery at the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine and Consultant in Colon and Rectal Surgery at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN. For over a decade, Dr. Cima directed the quality and safety program for the Mayo Clinic surgical practice and served as the vice-chair of the Mayo enterprise’s Surgical and Procedural Committee and the Department of Surgery. His clinical practice focuses on the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease with an emphasis on complex Crohn’s Disease. He has extensive experience with robotic parastomal hernia repair. His clinical research effort focuses on enhancing patient clinical outcomes, safety, and operational efficiency to enhance the value of care.
