Jessica Raque, MD, is a general surgeon with the Owensboro Health Surgical Specialists on New Hartford Road. She performs a wide variety of surgical procedures, including gastrointestinal surgeries, breast cancer surgeries, hernia repairs, as well as vascular surgery and the treatment of varicose and spider veins. She chose her medical specialty during a surgical rotation in medical school. “I started off in trauma,” she says. “There’s nothing that matches that thrill of seeing someone sick or dying, fixing the problem, and seeing them get better.” A native of Louisville, Dr Raque (pronounced like “rocky”) graduated from Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s in chemistry.
