Doctor Benavente moved to the Michiana area in 2011. He completed a General Surgery Residency at Mayo Clinic followed by an Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. He performs general and trauma surgeries at local Michiana surgery locations and even specializes in Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Benavente is an integral part of the Bariatrics and Metabolic Institute of Elkhart. His comprehensive weight management program uses new methods and approach for improved outcomes in each of his patients’ care. His passion for teaching healthy habits to each patient is reflected by his caring approach and exceptional bedside manners. Dr. Benavente speaks fluent Spanish.
