Dr. Maheshwari earned his medical degree from Wayne State Medical School in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Emory University School of Medicine. After residency, Dr. Maheshwari completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Emory University and a second fellowship at Emory University Hospital in transplant hepatology. Dr. Maheshwari has been widely published in leading journals including The American Journal of Gastroenterology and has co-authored several textbook chapters.
