Joel Calafell, M.D., is a general surgeon at Baptist Health Medical Group. Dr. Calafell specializes in colon and rectal surgery and has extensive training in robotic surgery. He was born and raised in Miami and is fluent in English and Spanish. Prior to joining Baptist Health Medical Group in 2021, Dr. Calafell was on staff at Lehigh Valley Health Network, where he completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery. During his general surgery residency, Dr. Calafell was elected administrative chief resident and awarded the Golden Humanism Award (Best Resident Teacher).
