Dr. LaVorgna is both a practicing physician and the chair of surgery at Norwalk Hospital. She is a board-certified general surgeon with special expertise in surgical emergencies, trauma and breast disease. She is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Connecticut representative to the American Medical Association and an active member of the Connecticut State Medical Society_x2014_all organizations that champion the rights of all patients to receive excellent care. Dr. LaVorgna believes that surgical care involves treating the entire person, not just the _x201C_part_x201D_ that is damaged or diseased.
