Dr. Amarita Klar

About

Dr. Amy Klar graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA, and received her medical degree from VCU’s School of Medicine. She went on to complete her internship and residency at Jefferson Health in Abington, Pennsylvania, where she developed a passion for treating obesity and metabolic disease. She continued this training at University Southwestern in Dallas, TX, and is certified in metabolic and general surgery using minimally invasive techniques, including robotics. She is board certified in general surgery. Dr. Klar is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the Society for American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
