Dr. Sargent decided to study and specialize in general and vascular surgery since it provides him the challenge of dealing with acute illnesses and the ability to treat and restore ill patients. He followed in his father's footsteps when he was accepted into medical school out of high school, and has never looked back. Dr. Sargent is continuously challenged to make the best decision regarding performing efficient and precise surgery, but often the decision to perform surgery is the most difficult and important question.
