Dr. Gillespie was recently designated a Hernia Surgeon of Excellence as was Saint Joseph’s Hospital designated a Hernia Center of Excellence. Additionally, Dr. Gillespie was named the Director of the Hernia Institute at Dignity Health. His expertise include all aspects of hernia care. His approach to each hernia is in a solution based fashion that is patient centered. He sees the occurrence of a hernia as a disease and not a simple circumstance. To that end, his initial goal will be to optimize all modifiable risk factors in anticipation of your hernia repair. He does employ state of the art technologies, but uses an evidence based approach in their application. His goal is to create a personalized, tailored plan for each patient.
